Meet the SBR Team
Dr. Matthew Lewis
Dr. Matthew Lewis was born and raised in Macon, Georgia but now calls Blue Ridge home. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Bulldog pride. Dr. Matthew completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, now Augusta University’s Dental College of Georgia. He continued his dental training with a surgically based general dentistry residency program in Augusta, gaining a wide range of skills in both general, sedation, and surgical dentistry. Dr. Matthew has worked with an Atlanta-based practice and has worked part-time in Blairsville where he fell in love with the North Georgia community and lifestyle.
Outside of the office, Dr. Matthew enjoys traveling locally and internationally. Whether catching a concert back at his old stomping grounds in Athens, traveling to the Dakotas to visit his retired mom, or jumping on a plane to an exciting new destination, Dr. Matthew keeps his feet moving. If you know of any good music coming to town or discover an interesting new city, chat him up and share what you know! Dr. Matthew is also an avid gardener and is currently diving into bonsai. If the season is right and the flavor suits you, see if you can help take some jalapeños off of his hands.
Dr. Matthew is excited to be bringing his talents to the Blue Ridge community. He is keeping things cutting edge with the newest advanced technology in the dental field. He is integrating digital dentistry and 3-D printing to help bring you the most precise and timely treatment options available.
Dr. Kassidy Lewis
Dr. Kassidy Lewis grew up in Woodstock, Georgia and is very excited to have the best of both worlds: being close to family and living in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She attended college at the University of Georgia, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. After college, she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. During dental school, Dr. Kassidy received many honors and scholarships. Most notably, she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and received the Hinman Scholarship.
Dr. Kassidy completed her post-doctoral level training at the Dental College of Georgia. She completed a two-year residency in the General Practice Residency Program. She received advanced multi-disciplinary training in surgical techniques for implant placement, bone grafting, surgical dental extractions, and IV sedation. Her Residency allowed her to broaden the scope of comprehensive dental care she provides to her patients.
When Dr. Kassidy is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog Milo and husband Dr. Matthew Lewis. They love to camp and kayak. Dr. Kassidy enjoys making healthy meals using fresh vegetables from their garden, as well as practicing yoga to maintain a healthy state of mind.
